Lancaster Community Hospital, located in Lancaster, CA is seeking
general orthopedic surgeon to join their staff. You could either have an
independent practice sharing office space; employees and overhead with
an established physician or a hospital sponsored individual practice.
Lancaster Community Hospital is a 117-bed acute care facility serving a
community of approximately 120,000 and a service area of 400,000.
Universal Health Services, Inc. recently purchased the facility and has
committed to building a new physical plant within the next four years.
The facility has 4 OR suites and does open heart surgeries. The ER has
16-18,000 annual visits, 50% of admissions are from ER. The payer mix
for the facility is 60% managed care, 35% Medicare. The hospital does
not provide pediatric or OB services.
Lancaster is home to a lot of aerospace industry; Boeing, Lockheed
Martin, Northrup. When the shuttle is unable to land in Florida it is
diverted to Lancaster. The community of Lancaster is located 60 miles
east of LA in the high desert known as Antelope Valley.
