CannuFLOW is a new approach to the arthroscopic inflow-outflow cannula.  Developed by Arthroscopic Assistants, Inc., the CannuFLOW provides three major benefits:

1. Uninterrupted irrigation flow maintains clear visibility which shortens time for proceedures; 

2. Pliable material and tapered flexibility prevent damage to the articular surfaces of the petellofemoral joint; 

3. Cost effective-single use for sterility and sharpness with or without a pump.

4. CannuFlow does not affect radio frequency bipolar ablation systems.

Current use of rigid, stainless steel cannulae results in flow obstruction and reduced visibility when the knee is flexed.  Using rigid steel cannulae requires constant and distraction efforts to regain clarity by repositioning.  Even when repositioned, the flow and clarity are often impaired.  Adding a mechanical pump increased costs and often requires additional operating room staff and maintenance.  The length of time spent trying to improve visibility adds to surgery time and reduces efficiency.  The surgeon using CannuFLOW can see clearly at all times, thus speeding up the arthroscopic procedure.
